Becca Muller – March Athlete of the Month

An athlete who the coaches get so excited to coach every class.

An athlete who energizes everyone else in class more than the music.

An athlete who smiles even bigger when they fail.

This athlete is Becca and we got so lucky to have her join our community in 2021.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? What do you do for a living/study? Feel free to add more.

I am from Hastings, MN but have lived in Lincoln for about 6 years now. I went to undergrad at UNL to study biomedical engineering and graduated in May 2021! I now work full time in Lincoln/Omaha hospitals as a cardiac device representative through Johnson & Johnson. I get to be in heart surgery every day and I have loved every minute of impacting patients lives through heart health!! I still live in Lincoln with my newly wedded husband- whom you all know and love- Sig! We got married in sept of 2022 and have LOVED working out at CrossFit Lincoln together. We will take on our next adventure in Billings MT when we move this May so he can pursue his dream of going to medical school! I will continue doing my current job at the Billings clinic and st Vincent hospital. We’re PUMPED!!

How did you find out about Lincoln Nutrition & Fitness?

I found out about LNF through Sig who begged me to join for several years. I always claimed it wasn’t for me since I was scared of the barbell. I finally caved in 2021 to get stronger before our wedding and take care of my body- I have loved it ever since!

What was the biggest obstacle for you to start?

Biggest obstacle was probably just me. Thinking I couldn’t do it since I had limited experience lifting and thinking I wasn’t strong enough. Happy to say I proved myself wrong!

How did you overcome that obstacle?

Through you all! My husband, coach Austin, & other athletes all really pushed me and encouraged me even when I failed. They taught me so much about pushing your limits- something I’m still working on.

Do you remember your first workout?

I do not remember it but I was probably sore for 2 weeks after it!!!

Who was your coach, how did they help you push through it?

Austin coached me 1:1 and probably saw the most growth in my barbell form. Never gave up on me and truly made me feel strong!! Also was a biomedical engineering guy so I understood how he explained the movements in a way that suited how my brain worked.

Why do you keep coming back to LIncoln Nutrition & Fitness?

I keep coming back because of the people, the stress relief and to keep my body healthy and happy! Also to get absolutely ripped

How do you balance health & fitness with a busy schedule?

My schedule is unpredictable as healthcare often is. If I don’t have cases that day, noon class is my go to, but if I get done in Omaha early enough I try to make it to the evening classes. Honestly Sig often motivates me to get up and get going after a long day of work and reminds me that my body is temple and I should treat it as such!

How does CrossFit help you with your job?

Keeps me energized, focused, and stimulated so I can treat these patients and healthcare staff to the best of my ability!

What is your favorite thing about Lincoln Nutrition & Fitness?

My favorite thing about LNF is the family! Whether it’s practicing handstand walks with Anna McVay, dancing with Sergio to every dubstep song, sharing a bike with Theresa, or competing with Sig, I have always felt like I belong here! LNF athletes and coaches know how to love WELL. Very thankful to be a part of this family!

We will miss you (and Sig) in May but there is now doubt that you impacted all our lives as much or more than we impacted yours…Thank you!
