Someone decided that Nebraska isn’t for everyone. The truth is, CrossFit may not be for everyone either. At least not CrossFit in the traditional sense. For the last decade CrossFit has been best known for its intense, varied functional movement performed in a class setting. The effort shared by the community during class encourages members to show up day after day.
We look out for each other and cheer each other on. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, PRs and graduations. We mourn losses, support each other during job changes and help you load your moving truck when you leave.
Class seems to be where all the action is. Class is where the community has always been.
Still, class may not be the best fit for everybody. Some athletes need a more personal approach to their fitness and their goals. At Lincoln Nutrition & Fitness: Home of CrossFit Lincoln, we offer personal training to those who need or want an experience that is personalized and desgined specifically for them.
Why would someone want a personal trainer? The benefits are far-reaching and the results can be life-changing.
Personal trainers develop a program just for you.
Everyone moves differently. Everyone has different goals. The cool thing about group classes is everyone is working on the same things. The downside is that maybe you work on movements that do not specifically fit your goals.
Our coaches/personal trainers develop a program that targets your personal goals. Want to lose weight? We can write a program for you. Want to build strength? We will develop a targeted program for you. Want to become a better high school/college/weekend warrior athlete? Want to dominate at local or regional competitions? Want to find your movement independence and look and feel great as you get older? We can help with all of those.
Personal training means you get the full attention of your trainer.
Group classes are great for connecting with others, watching the experience athletes move and then being able to quietly follow along. The problem is you can hide in class. Sometimes you can just wait to lift until the coach’s eyes have moved to another athlete. Sometimes you don’t push as hard. Sometimes your movement patterns need more work with the coach cueing the entire time. You won’t be able to get that specific in a group setting.
During your personal training sessions your trainer will make sure you properly perform every rep. As my basketball coach used to say, “Perfect practice makes perfect.” Moving perfectly will allow you to move more efficiently and, eventually, more weight. Your body will respond to refined movements in a phenomenal way. The results will be life changing.
Trainers hold you accountable.
Sometimes it is hard to stay motivated about going to the gym. Training is hard. We get sick. We get tired. We have hard days, weeks, months. We get bored. Having a trainer that you know is going to be there at the gym, consistent, helping you move well, stay motivated and planning for you makes it easier to show up every day. Plus, if you don’t show up, your trainer will know. They will call, text and/or email you to make sure everything is okay. We want you to be successful.
You get access to your trainers knowledge.
Every trainer has a different background. They approach fitness and health with their own experiences shaping their path. You get access to their knowledge, their experiences, their failures and successes. Great trainers are constantly learning something so they can share it with you. They stay up to date on the best fitness methodologies and practices so you don’t have to. Tap into that knowledge. Get better!
Everyone needs something a little bit different, a little unique. We all move differently, respond to different cues and have varied goals. Personal training may not be for everyone, but it really might be for you.
